CastingNow – Privacy Policy

We (“CastingNow”, “we”, “our”, “us”) treats your privacy as our priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use the CastingNow mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices as below.

This Policy applies to all information collected through the CastingNow app, our websites, and any connected devices or third-party integrations.

• Account data: name, email address, password, profile picture, display name.

• Payment data: if you purchase a subscription, our payment processor (Apple, Google, or Stripe) will collect your billing name, address, payment card details and transaction history. We do not store full card numbers.

• Feedback & support: any content of messages you send us, including crash reports or feature requests.

1. Information We Collect Automatically

• Device identifiers: IP address, mobile advertising IDs (IDFA/GAID), device model, OS version, language.

• Usage data: app opens, taps, session length, error logs, feature usage, crash data.

• Network & casting data: Wi-Fi network name (SSID), Receiver device name/model, casting session duration, codecs used, bitrate & buffering events.

• Location data: coarse location derived from IP address to recommend local content and comply with regional licensing; precise GPS location is collected only with your opt-in consent (e.g., to find nearby Receivers via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi).

1. Information from Third Parties

• Single sign-on: if you log in via Google, Apple or Facebook we receive your basic profile information (name, email, avatar) as permitted by those services.

• Content partners: when you cast from YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, etc., those services may share anonymized playback analytics with us under their own privacy policies.

We process your information for the following purposes:

1. a) Providing the Services (e.g., establishing casting sessions, syncing queues across devices).

2. b) Personalizing content recommendations and UI layout.

3. c) Communicating with you (support, service updates, marketing—only with consent where required).

4. d) Security & fraud prevention.

5. e) Compliance with legal obligations (tax, accounting, law-enforcement requests).

6. f) Analytics & product improvement (we use aggregated or de-identified data whenever feasible).

• Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) – to provide the Services you request.

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) – to improve and secure the Services (balanced against your rights).

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) – for optional features like precise location or marketing emails.

• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) – for tax, accounting and regulatory purposes.

1. Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell your personal data. We share it only:

• With service providers (hosting, analytics, payment processing, customer support) under strict data-processing agreements.

• With content partners solely to enable the casting session you initiate.

• When required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of CastingNow, our Users or others.

• In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (users will receive notice).

1. Data Retention

Account data is retained until you delete your account or as required for legal or accounting purposes (typically 6-7 years). Usage logs and device identifiers are retained in identifiable form for up to 90 days and then aggregated or deleted. You may request earlier deletion (see “Your Rights”).

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 at rest, least-privilege access, regular penetration tests and bug-bounty programs. Despite these efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100 % secure.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct or delete your personal data.

• Object to or restrict processing.

• Data portability.

• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.

• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

CastingNow is not developed for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. Yet we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and their policies apply.

We may update this Privacy Policy whenever it is necessary. We will notify you via the App or email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top refers to the most recent revision.
